A Day In The Life Of ……..
May 18th, 2008Monday morning (12/05/2008) woke up with pain in the right foot.
This became progressively worse with my 10 minutes walk from home to the railway station.
I bought a weekly pass and boarded on the train to work.
As usual the train was packed with barely enough room to stand and when I changed on to the next train the story was exactly the same.
Once at the destination station the pain had become even worse.
I couldn’t determine whether it was the Gout or Plantar Faciitus or both:it was a nervy sort of pain which was sharp and excruciating.
I barely struggled to get to the office,the journey taking between fifteen to twenty minutes instead of the usual ten.
At work everyone noticed me limping and asked about my health.
I spent most of my day sitting on/in my special chair, doing as little walking as possible except for the trip to get some lunch.
I regretted not having brought my extremely potent pain killers with me.
Journey from the office to the railway station was the worst I have ever experienced in terms of pain, especially when I have an extemely low threshold of pain.
Halfway through the journey I telephoned to ensure that there was someone available to take me from the station nearer home to my house by car.
I was immensely grateful to the young man who brought me home.
I struggled upstairs took painkillers and slumped into bed and sleep.
This has virtually happened for the most of the week and consequently I have not switched on my laptop for the past seven days to communicate to the outside world.
Each intervening day has been like a groundhog day except for the fact that Tuesday onwards I have been taking the potent painkillers which have invariably been affecting my head(brain).
Tomorrow is Monday (19/05/2008) again and hope to GOD there is not a repeat of last Monday.
I have an apointment with my doctor prior to my journey to work so I may escape the ordeal of last week.
